This Monday, a simple reminder… but powerful: Be. Here. Now.
In our workouts—and in life—it’s easy to get distracted by what’s next… The next set. The next meeting. The next challenge.
But real growth happens in the present moment. That single rep where you want to quit, but push through. That breath you consciously take when stress creeps in. That second, you pause to appreciate who you're with or how far you’ve already come.

I tried to put this into practice beginning Friday. Holy Cross hosted the Patriot League Track and Field Championships, which had been on our schedule for a year.
This was the shortest drive we've ever had!
Now that the weekend had finally arrived, it was time to just enjoy the moment and be present!

On Sunday morning, I hopped back in the car to head to NJ for a family party.
As I was driving past NYC, I was thinking about these guys, Jeff and John, who were riding in the 5 boroughs bike tour. They show up and are present 3-4 days per week at 7:00am, committed to staying strong and healthy so they can do cool stuff like this!
Way to go!

Finally, I arrived in Manasquan, NJ, as we celebrated an 80/30 birthday!
It was my dad's 80th, and 30 years ago, on his 50th birthday, my mom received a liver transplant.
So she's really only 30! :)
It's crazy how 30 years ago seems like last week!

Your power lives in the now.
This week, let’s challenge ourselves to be fully present: In your workouts, focus on form, breath, and intention. In your relationships, listen fully before responding. In your mindset—own the moment, don’t rush through it.
One moment at a time. One choice at a time. You don’t need to be perfect—just present.
