5 Ways To Become Mentally Stronger

Many people believe that if they could just become healthier, they would feel healthier. And that is true!

What many don't realize is that if they could just feel healthier, they would become healthier.

In Alan Cohen's book Relax Into Wealth, he talks about this; If you can prime the prosperity pump by speaking and acting as if you already have what you want or have gotten where you want to go, you will then be well on your way to achieving it.

He says, "Playing in your ideal realm hastens you living in that realm. Place yourself mentally, emotionally, and or physically into the world you desire…Dont wait until it happens to you; you happen to it."

To help you achieve more, here are 5 ways to become mentally stronger:

#1. Be OK to spend time by yourself. Maybe just a few minutes. Go for a lunch walk, sit in the car for a few minutes before you go into the house. Journal a few thoughts. You are enough, even if it's just a few minutes per day.??

#2. Be careful with outside praise and critique. If there is any value to a critique then absorb it and learn from it. Sometimes people will critique you or what you are trying to do for nothing more then to feed your brain with negativity with hopes that you will not succeed. What they say about you, sometimes says more about them then it does about you. Sometimes people will pull you back to their level because they themselves feel so crappy.

On the contrary, if you try and rely too much on the validation from others, it can be scary. This can mean that you do not have a clear purpose or WHY on what you are doing or what you are passionate about. When that extrinsic validation ends, will you still have enough intrinsic drive to keep going. Think about fat loss or body transformation just to stay on the fitness side. Who are you really doing this for? If someone wants to praise you, awesome. Just remember, this is for you. You want to get better! You are doing your best for you.

#3 Don't judge others. Don't put negativity out there if you don't want negativity to come to you. The more you put out into the world the more it will come back to you. If you are in a negative mindset, everywhere you look you will see that negativity and problems. You will miss many opportunities and solutions. Just be a good person.

#4 In order to be mentally strong you need to continue to make forward progress. What did you learn from your past experiences? Move forward from every experience. Write them down. Make it easy, use the notes in your phone, or in a small journal so you can look back and make sure you are making progress. Believe you are worthy to continue to make progress and achieve your goal. Once you can see yourself in that future position, and you bring that future position to the present, it can be achieved almost instantly. The problem arises when we don't see ourselves as worthy to achieve it.

#5 Normalize your success. Hang around other people who have already had success in the areas that are similar to your goals. Listen to positive affirmations in the form of podcasts and readings to constantly feed your brain. Believe you can achieve it and put the plans in motion. There will be mistakes and errors and that's okay. Learn from it and then continue to move forward. You need to feel you are worth it!
